1. ESRI New Business Partner of the Year 2002
Spatial Vision was recently awarded the ESRI New Business Partner of
the Year for 2002 by Jack Dangermond at ESRI's International Business
Partner Conference, Palm Springs USA.

2. Other News
Spatial Vision attended the NSW State AWA Conference (Waterscape 2002)
in
Parramatta on May 23/24. The major focus of the conference was
environmental management. This inaugural conference was well attended
and
set a good precedence for next year.
Spatial Vision participating in the very well supported NSW AURISA State
of
GIS Forum in Sydney on May 23. Over 230 other delegates were informed
of
the progress made by the major NSW government agencies over the last 12
months.

3. Regional Vegetation Mapping helps NSW LGAs with Strategic Planning
As a vital input into local land use planning, the NSW National Parks
and
Wildlife Service has recently completed a review of significant vegetation
and conservation areas of the Cumberland Plain region (from Western
Sydney out to the Blue Mountains). Spatial Vision has been commissioned
to develop a series of maps capturing the findings of this review for
dissemination to affected local authorities.

4. SV to undertake update of Victorian CFA Rural Map Books
The Country Fire Authority of Victoria produces a series of detailed map
books for the entire State of Victoria. These books are used by CFA
crews to respond to fire incidents throughout the state. Each map book
is
updated every 5 years. Spatial Vision has recently won the contract to
produce some 13,000 books for two of the CFA's rural fire management
districts.

5. NewTech Forum
To assist users come to grips with the new ESRI ArcGIS environment,
Spatial Vision will be delivering a paper entitled 'Developing a Spatial
Data Model is Not Rocket Science' and taking a trade booth at the NewTech
Forum, July 18 at Swan Hill, Victoria.

6. OZRI 2002 National Conference
Spatial Vision will be participating at ESRI's Australian user forum,
the
OZRI 2002 National Conference, at Brisbane Convention Centre, August 27-28.
Ian Miller will present a paper entitled: "Integrated Spatial Data
Capture
via a Web Application". Spatial Vision will also be taking a trade
booth.

7. Project Outcomes
Significant state and federal funding is spent on geographically dispersed
natural resource projects. The Catchment and Water Division of the
Department of Natural Resources in Victoria recognised the need to improve
the tracking of expenditure and progress on these projects. They contracted
Spatial Vision to implement a web based application that enables project
managers to map project sites and record relevant details. Since
implementation 18 months ago, over 4,000 works projects across Victoria
have been recorded via CAMS by users in over 30 regional offices.
