What's New from Spatial Vision? 

1. New Mapbook Series for Emergency Services

Spatial Vision's new Vicmap Book series is now available. The new Vicmap Book series replaces the CFA Regional Directories for emergency management. Five map books are being published covering all of regional Victoria. The book comprises high quality 1:100,000 topographic maps (with 1:50,000 for selected areas) as well as detailed township maps with the latest Vicmap data and emergency service features. Spatial Vision is taking orders for the first map book for the Outer Metro Region now.

2. Biodiversity Tender System

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority has contracted Spatial Vision to develop a system to manage a public tender for landholders to manage native vegetation on private land across Victoria's volcanic plain bioregion.

3. Point Nepean Consultation Maps

Parks Victoria appointed Spatial Vision to undertake a series of "Have Your Say" brochures and display maps to actively encourage community participation and involvement in the preparation of the Management Plans for the new Point Nepean National Park.

4. Cardiac GIS

Health Management Advisors and Spatial Vision have been selected to research the spatial distribution of demand for and supply of cardiac rehabilitation services throughout regional Australia. The project also involves the production of a CD-ROM based GIS application for making details of service providers available to health services.

5. Nexus - Vicmap IUF for VicRoads

VicRoads purchased Spatial Vision’s Nexus product as a means of assisting with the maintenance of their property database, VISTA. Nexus is an ArcGIS based IUF (Incremental Update File) conversion tool for Vicmap data.

6. Web Mapping for Australian Marine Spatial Information System

Geoscience Australia has selected Spatial Vision to develop a new web mapping site to be known as the Australian Marine Spatial Information System (AMSIS). AMSIS will be developed using Geoscience Australia’s extensive spatial infrastructure and will be based on Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards.

7. Irrigation District Atlas

Spatial Vision recently assisted Southern Rural Water in the preparation of an Atlas for the Macalister Irrigation District. The Atlas summarises key information and the physical attributes of the District.

8. Groundwater reporting framework for Murray Darling Basin

The Murray-Darling Basin Commission has engaged Spatial Vision and Bartley Consulting to identify and document the requirements of a groundwater information reporting framework for the Basin.

9. Heritage Map Series

Spatial Vision is working with heritage consultants, Context Pty Ltd, to publish a series of maps illustrating the historic development of the City of Stonnington in Victoria.

10. GIS Stream Site Allocation Tool

Spatial Vision was commissioned to design a GIS based tool that would enable random selection of sampling sites to support stream condition assessments.

11. Field Recording of Minerals

Spatial Vision completed the development of a mobile application to support field data collection of geology data and synchronisation with corporate databases for NSW Department of Primary Industries - Minerals.

EmerGeo News:

12. EmerGeo Deployed for Marine Oil Spill Response

The Canadian company, Burrard Clean Operations, will be installing EmerGeo into their mobile operations centre to support response personnel at emergency sites. EmerGeo is a GIS tool designed for emergency managers.
