NEW PROJECTS:
5. Analysis and Visualisation of Groundwater Management Units
Groundwater Management Units (GMUs) are the primary administrative unit for managing groundwater resources in Victoria. Spatial Vision was contracted to assist the Department of Sustainability and Environment to analyse the relationships between GMU and visualise them.

6. Water Industry Survey
Spatial Vision has completed a survey on the use of GIS by water authorities across Australia. The results of the national survey provide a snapshot on the operational deployment of GIS technology by water authorities in 2006. The survey results are contrasted against the picture in 2002 when Spatial Vision surveyed all Victorian supply authorities.

VICMAP BOOK NEWS:
7. South-East Map Book Released
The fifth and final Vicmap Book (Edition 1) covering South-East Victoria has been released. The new map book includes the location of wind turbines and updated campsite information for Parks and Reserves. Another major improvement relates to the method of depicting un-named local roads.
These map books are available either direct from Spatial Vision or from leading map sellers.

8. Vicmap Book 'Interactive' DVD
Spatial Vision's award winning topographic Vicmap Books will soon be available in a digital raster format with a free PC viewer so you can print your own maps.
The 'Interactive' DVD includes statewide coverage of 1:100,000/1:50 000 topographic maps and comprehensive indexes to allow you to search state-wide for streets, townships and localities. You can also load the raster files onto PDA or GPS devices running OziExplorer CE for GPS mapping on the road and trail.

VICMAP CORNER:
9. IUF data goes to weekly updates.
Spatial Information Infrastructure (SII), custodians of Vicmap data, have announced their intention to shorten the Incremental Update Format (IUF) cycle from its current fortnightly cycle, to weekly. This means that there will now be 52 incremental updates instead of 26 helping users keep their property and address data even more up-to-date.
The new update cycle will not affect the IUF XML schema. The changes will be introduced following the creation of a new IUF seed file in January 2008. If you are running Spatial Vision's IUF translation tool, Nexus, you will be able to process the weekly updates.
10. Improved Digital Elevation Model delivery at Spatial Vision
Spatial Vision has recently taken steps to improve the delivery of the DSE's Vicmap Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data. DEM data is available to all clients that purchase Vicmap Elevation data.
For further information http://www.spatialvision.com.au/html/r_dem.htm
If you would like further information on any of the items in the Vicmap corner or would like a quote for Vicmap data or are interested in other DSE datasets, please call Jeremy Alcorn at Spatial Vision on 03 9691 3000 or email data@spatialvision.com.au.
