How to order Vicmap Digital Data?

Spatial Vision is pleased to offer you any of the Vicmap Digital data products, clipped to your specific area of interest in the projection and format that best meets your requirements. We also offer a regular resupply option so that you can have the most up-to-date data in your system. We can advise you on the optimal supply method/media depending on your data selection and specific circumstances.

Step 1 - Select an Area of Interest

The area of interest is the area in Victoria for which you would like any of the Vicmap Digital data supplied. There are several ways of selecting this area:

By Feature A descriptive detail eg: 'area covered by Latrobe and Baw Baw Local Government Areas"

By Map Sheet 1:25,000 eg. number and name

By Bounding Box The coordinates of a box with lower left and upper right corners.

Step 2 - Select Vicmap Data Products

Vicmap Digital data is the State of Victoria's authoritive map base that models the primary physical and administrative infrastructure. Vicmap is comprised of the following main products:

 

Step 3 - Select Data Format

Spatial Vision supplies data in ESRI, MapInfo and CAD formats. We are happy to discuss other formats that you may be interested in. Spatial Vision can advise you on the appropriate format for your requirements if you are unsure.

Step 4 - Select Coordinate System

A coordinate system is made up of a datum and a projection. A datum describes the size and shape of the earth and in Victoria, the datum will typically be GDA94 or AGD66. A projection is based on a datum and is the mathematical transformation for representing the curved surface of the Earth to a flat map plane. The most common projections used are X,Y,Z.

Step 5- Select Data Supply Medium

The volume of your data and the format you select will determine the optimal supply method. If the zipped volume of your data is less than 5Mb then Spatial Vision can email it to you providing there are no size restrictions on your receipt of data. For larger volumes, we will arrange FTP access, or supply by CD-ROM or tape format. Spatial Vision can advise you on the supply methods/media available to you once your order has been processed.
