Vicmap Digital Data

Vicmap Digital data is the State of Victoria's digital map base that models the primary physical and administrative infrastructure. The Vicmap products includes: Address, Administrative boundaries, Elevation, Hydrography, Imagery, Property and Transport. The Vicmap data underpins key spatial services including Melways and VicRoads directories, emergency services and government. The digital products are suitable as a base for maps, systems and the web for recording and managing assets, customers, land, hazards and any geographic based service. Land Victoria recently announced that the original broad Vicmap data series of Property, Roads and Topography has been enhanced and reorganised into the new series of seamless, focussed data products, as described earlier.

Vicmap Address

Victoria's Authoritative, Accurate and Current Address data base.

Vicmap Address provides a current database of locations and details for addresses for the entire state. It is a point dataset captured at scales up to 1:25,000. Vicmap Address was derived from the former Vicmap Property and Road data sets.

Fields within Vicmap Address include: unit and floor type identifiers, street number, locality, postcode details. Also included are property, building complex and internal (private) street detail, geocode (latitude and longitude), delivery point identifier (DPID) and rural address numbers. In addition, Vicmap Digital Address includes additional useful tools such as council property number (CPN) and census district (CD) identifier. Address points can be directly linked to corresponding locations in the new Vicmap Property.

Victoria's Crown Land database

Vicmap Crown Tenure comprises layers showing the public and private use of Crown Land in Victoria. The layer includes polygons describing the boundaries of private leases and licences (for example grazing licences) on Crown Land. The layer also includes the boundaries of reserves over Crown Land. Vicmap Property is key framework datasets of Victoria. It provides the current land parcel and property framework for the State of Victoria. Vicmap Property was captured at scales up to 1:25,000 and is regularly updated. Properties within Vicmap Property can be linked to details within Vicmap Address. It is a fundamental land and asset management tool to organisations, which include State Government Departments, Local Government Authorities, Electricity Distribution Companies, Telecommunication Companies, Water Authorities and Private Industry. Vicmap Transport covers the transport network across Victoria. Vicmap Transport contains road, rail, and airport features captured at various scales up to 1:25,000. Vicmap Transport was derived from the former Vicmap Roads and Topographic datasets. It includes a detailed data model of Victoria's entire road network including features such as traffic lights, railway crossings, roundabouts, bridges and tunnels.
