Map locations via the Web
Tractus
Spatial Vision developed the Tractus (spatial edit applet)
in response to demand for an easy-to-use web-based tool for
creating spatial data that can be fully attributed and stored
with corporate spatial data.
The Tractus tool enables end-users to create points, lines
and polygons for defined spatial layers and store these with
attributes in ArcSDE so they may become corporately accessible.
- Tractus is tightly integrated with ESRI ArcIMS
- Enables direct editing of ArcSDE datasets
- Provides intuitive tools for end-user s to create and edit spatial features
- Designed to be incorporated into business applications
Tractus provides intuitive tools for creating spatial records
including the ability to copy features from existing data,
creation of circles from radius, dragging of lines, cutting
of shapes. Once committed to the database, the spatial records
are topological, spatially-registered data features that can
be used in spatial analysis and reporting.
Tractus is ideal for agencies that require dispersed users
to quickly record the location of an incident or boundary
for use as part of a business application making it immediately
available within the corporate environment for reporting,
mapping and spatial analysis.
Tractus is a set of component tools that can be built into
ArcIMS applications. It comprises a small (less than 100 KB)
Java applet which downloads into the browser and provides
the user interface and a server-side Java servlet which interfaces
with ArcSDE. Tractus uses an XML file to configure the editable
layer parameters and also uses ArcXML (AXL) to communicate
directly with ArcIMS.
