Spatial Vision Develops New Address-Reporting Tool for Australia Post

View Press Release ( 96kb)

When you move into your dream house in a new subdivision, how does Australia Post know that your new delivery address exists? More importantly for Australia Post, how quickly and reliably can they be notified of new addresses?

Australia Post currently uses the Victorian Government’s Vicmap spatial datasets to overcome the challenge of identifying new areas of residential development.

To streamline this process Australia Post has contracted Spatial Vision to develop an Address Reporting Tool (ART) that will identify and report relevant changes in updates of the Vicmap data.

Nexus will rapidly process and report changes in Incremental Updates Files (IUF) of Vicmap property and address data. Nexus will enable Australia Post to incrementally update their licensed copy of Vicmap Property and Address on their corporate server.

The final version of ART will include a custom tool in ArcGIS that will enable users to readily verify address changes against the NAF by zooming to their actual location.
