Press Release -30 November 2007
Spatial Vision would like to congratulate Context Pty Ltd on its success in winning the inaugural Heritage Award at the annual Planning Institute of Australia (Victorian Division) awards held recently in Melbourne.
Context, in conjunction with Melbourne Water, prepared a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for the Yan Yean Water Supply System which extends from catchment areas in the Great Dividing Range through constructed reservoirs and weirs into inner suburban Melbourne. Context identified key elements of cultural heritage associated with the Water Supply System and prepared the CMP to assist in the conservation of this important infrastructure.
Spatial Vision assisted Context in the project by capturing the heritage infrastructure identified in the CMP as a GIS layer for supply to Melbourne Water. Spatial Vision also prepared the maps included in the CMP.
Context was also won a Heritage Commendation for the Stonnington Thematic Environmental History for which Spatial Vision also prepared maps.
The close working relationship between Context and Spatial Vision continues through our joint involvement in the Victorian Water Heritage Study, which seeks to identify key water infrastructure heritage items across the entire state.
