Emergeo EMA Instalation

View Press Release ( 86kb)

Emergency Management Australia provides national leadership in the development of measures to reduce the risk and manage the consequence of disasters. A key service provided by EMA is developing the capacity of communities to mitigate, manage and recover from disasters. To support this role, the EMA Institute (EMAI) based in Mt Macedon, Victoria delivers national training in a range of emergency management areas.

EMAI has purchased EmerGeo to demonstrate the significant role that GIS can play in supporting emergency management especially in Emergency Coordination Centres (ECC). Apart from supplying the EmerGeo software, Spatial Vision assisted EMAI personnel with installation and configuration to meet their training needs. EMAI trainers will use EmerGeo to enhance a range of disaster scenarios to be used in training sessions for ECC personnel drawn from across the country.
EMAI selected EmerGeo due to its inherent ease of use by ECC personnel, extensive in-built emergency response tools, cost effectiveness and ability to be readily configured for a wide variety of training scenarios.

The adoption of EmerGeo by EMA for this training role reflects the growing recognition by government and private enterprises around the globe of EmerGeo's unique role as the mapping solution of choice for emergency management.
