Spatial Traveling with Lonely Planet

Spatial Vision has recently commenced work on the design and development of a new Mapping Platform for Lonely Planet Publications. The project will deliver a new GIS based hard copy mapping platform based on the latest database driven cartographic technology.

The project is currently in its early stages and will involve system design and data modelling, system development, testing and implementation. Spatial Vision has assembled an experienced project team that are working closely with expert Lonely Planet staff. This project represents the ideal combination of Spatial Vision's automated mapping experience, system design and development expertise combined with Lonely Planets vast experience and expertise in guidebook publication.

Lonely Planet Publications are one of the largest travel guide book publishers in the world with offices in Melbourne, London and Oakland, with over 500 staff members and 300 authors. All Lonely Planet guidebooks are the result of on-the-ground research and draw from the collective knowledge of a global travel community. They are constantly evolving and always improving.
