Spatial Vision recently released the first in its series
of Murray River Recreational User Guide Booklets. This first
booklet covers the section of the river between Ulupna Island
and Yarrawonga.
Designed for visitors touring the area, the booklet has
information regarding recreation facilities including camping,
boating and fishing within NSW and Victorian Parks and Forests,
and major walks.
The booklet provides authoritative information on river
access, and reference material including services available
from local towns.
The booklet is targeted at the many visitors to the region
who will use the river for recreational purposes such as fishing,
skiing, walking, camping, picnicking, or stay in near by towns
such as Tocumwal, Cobram, Barooga, and Yarrawonga.
The booklet has also proven valuable to a range of other
users: “May I congratulate you on your publication
of the Murray River Access booklet. It is a clear concise
document that the Tocumwal & District Search & Rescue
Squad now have in all vehicles and headquarters and will be
invaluable for calls from the river which are at times from
people in stressful situations.”
The booklet is A4 in size and maps both banks of the Murray
River at a scale of 1:25,000. The booklet also includes emergency
and other helpful contact information. Spatial Vision wishes
to acknowledge the assistance with field checking by the staff
of Parks Victoria and NSW Department of Primary Industry.
The map book has a recommended retail price of $4.95.
Map books for other sections of the river are due for release
shortly.
Production of this first map book has been supported by
Moira Tourism and local traders.
