The NSW Department of Primary Industries is increasingly providing access to on-line services that will simplify client dealings with government. Clients who make use of these services must have confidence that safeguards have been put in place to ensure access to their information is tightly controlled and individual privacy is properly maintained.
In order to fulfil these basic requirements, NSW DPI contracted Spatial Vision to partnership in the design, development and testing of a Web Access Gateway. This gateway will provide a single point of authentication and controlled access to the department's on-line services, reducing the cost of managing separate authentication systems for each service. As a critical step in the development, the Web Access Gateway was subjected to - and passed - independent (and rigorous) integrity testing.
The Web Access Gateway is now being brought into production and will initially provide access to the Fisher Direct service due to be available later this year.
