"Information is a source of learning. But unless it is organized, processed, and available to the right people in a format for decision making, it is a burden, not a benefit."  - William Pollard

Today, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) form an integral part of virtually all local government information management systems. Spatial technology is no longer merely “nice to have”. Councils expect to be able to use mapping systems to support their daily decision making and service provision activities, as well as to add value to the information provided to residents.

How does Spatial Vision assist Local Government?

Spatial Vision has worked extensively with Local Government and provides:

  • Advice
    •    Strategic planning: What should you be doing in the next three to five years?
    •    Technology advice: What software do you need? What applications are worth considering?
    •    Data advice: What data should you be using?
  • Data Maintenance and Management: gathering, processing, reformatting, geocoding, verifying, cleaning
  • Metadata: defining, creating, maintaining
  • Support: for large projects (eg urban development, utilities, etc)
  • Mapping: High quality hardcopy or digital map production
  • Training: ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcPad; Moxi Media’s Internet Mapping Framework (IMF)
  • Technical assistance: ArcGIS Desktop tool and application development; ArcGIS Server installation, upgrade and application development; EView customisation
