How does Spatial Vision contribute to NRM?
Spatial Vision has a long history of assisting natural resource management (NRM) professionals to make informed decisions about natural assets, their values and threats to their integrity.
Spatial Vision’s provides a broad range of services to support to government, catchment management groups, individual land managers, and environmental and industry groups meet the every increasing challenges of sound natural resource and environmental management and includes:
- Designing and implementing business systems to support native vegetation management, sustainable fisheries management, and market based approaches to improved environmental management decision making
- Working with catchment management groups, government, and landholders in designing and developing web-based tools to address the fundamental relationship between individual property and larger scale catchment management, particularly environmental target setting and outcome monitoring.
- Developing spatially-based decision support systems for biodiversity, waterway, estuary and wetland managers combining both scientific research and anecdotal inputs
- Modelling the likely distribution of old-growth forest based on biophysical and disturbance history information, or the priority areas for landscape restoration efforts based on quality and habitat fragmentation.
