Vicmap data

New attributes to be added to the Vicmap Address tables

DSE has recently identified further changes to the Vicmap address tables with the addition of a number of additional attributes.  These additional attributes  are designed to ensure that Vicmap data aligns more closely to Australian Standards for providing address information.

The changes reflect the following changes;

Hotel Style Addressing (HSA) will allow the addition of concatenated fields containing a character (such as B01 a unit in a basement).  Two new fields will be created, a flag field (HAS_FLAG) the indicates whether or not the record is a HSA and HSA_UNIT_ID  which will describe the unit number.

Non-road Access Addressing  is designed to cater for water and island addresses.  While DSE maintains that these addresses are adequately maintained within the existing data model, there is no field that adequately identifies them as a non-road access address which may cause problems for Emergency Services requiring access to the address.   DSE proposes adding a new field Address  Access Type (ADD_ACCESS_TYPE) which will identify addresses accessed by Road, Waterway and Island Addresses which do not have road access.

DSE indicates that these attributes will appear in Full-file replacement Vicmap data in May 2012 and will be added to the data model for IUF data when the new seed file is released at the beginning of 2013.
