The release of the South East Region Vicmap Book has marked the completion of the second edition of the five volume series of Vicmap Books.

Spatial Vision, CFA, and DSE have worked collaboratively to improve the second edition series and this can be seen in the latest user feedback.

Since the release of the first Central Region Vicmap Book in August 2006, the Vicmap Book range has won four prestigious awards.

The series took out the 2006 Australia Pacific Spatial Excellence Award in the category of People and Community and was followed in September 2008 when the Vicmap Book Interactive DVD (the digital version of the first edition) won the International Map Traders Association award for best computer based product.

The 2nd Edition recently received two awards at the annual Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute conference in Adelaide. Vicmap Books won the Excellence in Mapping Awards for both General Purpose Mapping and Thematic Mapping.

Managing Director Glenn Cockerton said “We have worked very hard with our partners to improve data maintenance procedures and the second edition has seen a marked improvement in quality. As with any product, no state-wide mapping series will ever be 100% complete, however we are very happy with the quality achieved in the second edition. To receive these awards is always great, and recognises the efforts of Vicmap Book product team.
