Spatial Vision Vicmap Books Imagery

Spatial Vision's Vicmap Books comprise high quality 1:100,000 topographic maps (with 1:50,000 for selected areas) as well as detailed township maps with the latest Vicmap data and emergency service features.  Five books cover the State:

• Central
  
• South-West
  
• North-West
  
• North-East
  
• South-East
  
  
  

Spatial Vision has also produced digital versions of the Vicmap Books.  These products are ideally suited for use as topographic map backdrops within GIS systems, in web-mapping applications, or even in hand held devices, avoiding the need for complex symbolisation of the “raw” vector data, and data management effort such data sets require.

Available formats

PDF

The PDF files include all the marginal information and are an exact replica of each page in the book.  The PDF files are NOT geo-referenced.

JPG files

JPG files of each page in the book only display the area within the map’s extent - marginal information is not included with the JPG files. The JPG files are georeferenced.  For ESRI users, the JPG files are supplied with a catalogue file that, when imported into an ArcGIS mxd will enable you to open and display all the JPG files at a given scale without having to import the files one at a time.

ECW files

The ECW imagery consists of individual mapbook pages “stitched together” to form a mosaic covering an entire map book extent.  
The ECW mosaics are made up of maps generated at the “base” mapping scale for each of the books, that is  1:50K for the Central Mapbook and 1:100K maps in the North-west, South-west, North-east and South-east books.  

Other data provided

With each data supply Spatial Vision also supplies the Page extents and Page Grids as ESRI Shape and MapInfo Tab files.  You will also receive Road and Locality Indexes in both PDF and CSV formats.

Licensing

Three Levels of Licensing are available:

• Base License:  data may be installed on up to 5 individual PCs and 5 PDA devices (excludes installation on a server)
• Corporate License:  data may be installed on an intranet with access for up to 100 users and up to 100 PDA devices.
• Enterprise License:  data may be installed on an intranet unlimited users unlimited PDA devices.
